First off thanks so much for being here! Detrimony is a story for anyone who enjoys fantasy or superheros. Imagine not remembering where you are from & having a storm follow you everywhere. The more angry you get the worse the storm becomes. The rain never ends. You have much to learn ... welcome to Detrimony!
Hi, thanks so much for checking out Detrimony! I am 41 years old and have loved comics and art all my life. I am married to Becky the Beautiful and we just have so much to be thankful for. We have 3 children Michael, Hayden, and Elise between the ages of 9 and 21. I still am a big kid myself and love to joke around and have fun. I started drawing when I met my buddy Rob Mangen in Kindergarten and I think it’s so cool we teamed up 35 years later to make a comic book. I really appreciate any fans of Detrimony and have my heart set on delivering a really different and fun experience. The 6 books are written and I feel like I have a big secret I can’t tell anyone! Get ready for some action!
Detrimony is now Full Bleed! Full Bleed means that the artwork is extended to the edge of each page. Book 1 was printed with borders and I like Full Bleed much better! Also, based on feedback from others I changed the logo so it’s easier to read. Hope you like it!
Book 1 was a great learning experience. With doing all the writing, inking, and colors for each page I knew I would never get through the series at the pace I was going. I decided to ask my friend Robert Mangen to work on Detrimony with me. We have known each other since kindergarten and he is the guy that got me into drawing as a kid, he would give me full sketchbooks and I would take them home and draw the same pictures over and over and over and that’s how I improved. Robert just happened to be in between projects and I’m extremely happy and lucky to be working with him. He is providing most of the pencils for the book, I love to draw so I am still going to be doing some pages of my own. If you would have told me when I was younger that I’d be hiring my friend that got me into drawing to create and produce a comic book featuring my “Original Character” I wouldn’t ever have believed it. His art is so awesome and I feel like we are killing it right now together!
I also purchased a 3D printer and have started printing out statues of Mason and coloring them in acrylics. They are looking great and will be ready to ship soon. I’m anxious to get them into your hands and hopefully some comic book shops.
I upgraded about everything from the first to the second book. I used to work on a Cintiq and now I switched to an iPad with iPad pencil. I also went from Photoshop to Procreate and for me it’s a lot easier to use. I am able to ink pictures much faster and more accurate. I also can color a lot better on the iPad Vs the Cintiq.
Be well!
